6. Installation

6.1 System requirements

• A Windows machine
• .Net 4.5 or higher installed

6.2 Installation guide

1. To install DataConnectIT, double click on the file DataConnectIT.exe

2. When the exe file is double clicked, a window will open. In this window press Next

Option for changing path of the installation files:

• In the next window, the user has the option to change the path of the installation
• By clicking the “Change…” button (see image below), a new window will open

3. In the window below you can select the path of the installation folder

4. By default, the installation will install all the files in the Programs Files(x86)

5. If you do not want the files to be in Program Files(x86), you can choose to change the path of the folder by clicking the dropdown button, and then navigate to the folder of your choice and press OK

6. Continue by pressing the button Next

7. In the next window, the information of the Destination Folder and the user information is displayed

8. By pressing the Install button, the installation process will start

9. After this, the installation is finished. In the last window there is an option to launch the application directly or to run it manually

10. To launch the program just select “Launch the program”

11. After the installation has finished, you will see a tray icon in the menu bar and a shortcut on your desktop

12. The installation is now finished. To start working with DataConnectIT, simply click on the icon in the taskbar

13. When you have clicked the icon, a window will pop up like this:

14. Click Configuration and the Main Window will open

15. In this window there are more options, such as:

• To exit the DataConnectIT application, click Exit
• To start trigger process, click Start Trigger Process
• To stop trigger process, click Stop Trigger Process
• To reset the event log, click Reset Event Log

You are now ready to set up DataConnectIT (see point Options 4 in the DataConnectIT Manual)

6.3 Registering DataConnectIT

The first time you install DataConnectIT, it will work for 2 hours in a demo version. In order to have the full version of the program, you need to buy a product key to register in the application.

To register a product key for DataConnectIT, follow this process:

1. Press the Help button on the menu at the top of the client and then press About DataConnectIT

2. When you have pressed the option About DataConnectIT, a new window will open. In the new window there is a button called Register Product that you must click

3. When you have pressed the button Register, a text box will show up like this in the image (see below):

4. In the text box you have to type in a unique name for the specific machine where the DataConnectIT is installed, and press OK to select where to store the auto-generated file from the program

5. Now that you have created the generated file, you need to contact your provider of Nolek software

6. The person from the company will ask you to send the generated file over a network (email etc.)

7. When your request has been processed by your provider, you will then get back the product-key file that you need to load in the application

8. When you have received the product key, you need to press Load File in the window as shown in the image below. Find the file in your machine and press Open

6.4 Uninstall DataConnectIT

To uninstall DataConnectIT you have two options:

• Uninstall from the DataConnectIT.exe
• Uninstall from the Control Panel

In both options you need to remember to exit DataConnectIT before beginning the uninstall process in order to uninstall successfully.

6.4.1 Uninstall from the DataConnectIT.exe

1. The first option is by running the file “DataConnectIT.exe” from the file you have stored on your PC

2. After the loading is finished, you will see this window (image below), where you have to press Next:

3. In the next window you need to select Remove and click the button Next

4. In the last window, press Remove (image below)

When the process is finished, DataConnectIT has been removed successfully from your machine.

6.4.2 Uninstall from the Control Panel

Second option is to uninstall DataConnectIT from the Control Panel

1. You can find DataConnectIT in the list of your installed programs. Right click on the program and select Uninstall

After this process is finished, DataConnectIT is successfully removed from your machine.
